Check Out SunCommon Solar Canopies We Like These
So if you're trying to figure out what our thought process is when we say Artisanal PV, no better place to look than SunCommon, Vermont based solar PV designer and installer. These guys have a great Solar Canopy product that they are building for their clients, attractive, useful, functional. Basically solar PV integrated with a pergola structure which can be used for any number of functions, carport, storage area, possibly a garden shaded area, or a stand alone statement in and of itself. The down side as far as we can see is that it is super customized, while it looks as is some of the structural elements are standardized, it's still all very heavy lumber, and not exactly sure the ground supports. This looks like a project that takes time to permit, time to build, multiple visits by multiple trades - but a bad thing, but can it be done better?

Daniel Libeskind Jewish Museum Berlin Design That Speaks Volumes
One of the great works of modern architecture, Daniel Libeskind's Jewish Museum in Berlin. The visualization of the buildings especially from above sort of defies description, emotive architecture at it's best. An original structure, the Kollegienhaus built in 1735 is married to a deconstructivist jagged zigzag make up the two primary structures, the complex design relationship between the two may not be so obvious, other than simple juxtaposition, but it works to great effect. Throughout the site there are memorial gardens, special exhibitions and permanent exhibits. Not exactly sure how this plays out as design inspiration for us, but worth the bookmark and mention.
