Timeless Farnsworth House By Mies Van Der Rohe


 The Farnsworth House, Designed by Mies Van Der Rohe has been a quintessential example of modern architecture and more specifically The International Style, since the day it was built. The house was initially conceived in 1945, give or take, and finally built 1950 to 1951. The house, the structure, the style has been endlessly debated and critiqued and regardless of where you might stand personally as to its appeal the idea remains original and historically stunning. For our purposes, and why it deserves a bookmark mention as inspiration for us, we're interested in its slabbed surfaces, raised plains, and geometries.

Grist Announces It's New Fixers For 2020

 The people over at Grist have been doing an amazing job of covering environmental issues and climate change for quite some time now. One of their annual actions each year is to announce a list of "fixers" individuals who are making a difference to improve our planet, our environment, tackle climate change, whatever it may be. Despite the pandemic, Grist has gone forward with their list for 2020. Lot's of really interesting, talented people that are absolutely worth reading about. Gives hope for the future.
