The Worlds Most Unlikely Solar Farms

Title sort of says it all. We had been searching under the phrases Unique Solar and Notable Solar Projects to try and broaden our depth of research and this BBC article popped up as one of the top results in google, we'd thought about making an effort to change the title, but instead felt it was indeed perfectly suited. Although not exactly what we were looking for in terms of architecturally interesting solar it's informative, focusing instead on location for unlikely solar installations, ie, Alaska.

Frank Gehry Winton House Early Residential Home

Frank Gehry did not do a lot of residential homes, maybe ten or twelve as best as we can figure. Obviously his first real home was, his Santa Monica residence, which has an enduring deconstructionist appeal that will more than likely stand the test of time. However, his first sort of modern Frank Gehry established architect home was Penny and Mike Winton house on Lake Minnetonka, built as a guest house in 1982. It's very much a Gehry home, you can tell right off the bat, jumble of shapes and volumes, textures and materials. Figured to include it here as an inspirational bookmark of sorts. If you're not familiar with the work, you should definitely google it.
