So What Is Artisanal PV All About Anyway?

Yeah, so we've been plugging our various social media accounts and other profiles on websites where you can find us, but haven't done all that much to actually say what it is that we're all about. The "Royal We" has had this idea floating around in our heads for awhile, which has only become somewhat more  overwhelming this past year as the media has finally started to cover the climate crisis on a regular basis, really trying to drive home how important and necessary it is to address our addiction to fossil fuels. The message is pretty clear, that we need to transition off of fossil fuels, like super quick, in the next decade or two and more or less 100% phased out by 2050. Solar and other renewable energy technologies aren't new, they've been around forever, but in the past year or two they are now cheaper than fossil fuels, large parts of the US and the rest of the world, solar is almost or at grid parity... so why aren't more people switching to solar? We don't have an answer to that, but we do have an idea... solar has a big up front cost, but let's be honest, it's also kind of unattractive, or at the very least simply utilitarian. Why don't we try and make solar a little more interesting, come up with, encourage and promote unique solar designs, architecturally interesting solar, something that's a little bit more than just a few rectangular shapes plonked on your roof... what if we got artists, designers, architects involved in putting their creative juices to work to make solar something more interesting, or at least visually appealing. So, we came up with the idea for Artisanal PV. We are absolutely the first to admit that the name might sound a little pretentious, corny,  but heck we have artisanal chocolates, artisanal ice cream, artisanal coffee, pretty much artisanal everything, so why not artisanal solar. You see the name, you probably know what to expect.
